I just wanted to add that Baclofen doesn’t generally keep you awake because it’s a relaxer. I split a 10 mg pill and took 5 mg each night.if the dose your on is doing the job then just stick to that, improving sleep can indirectly help with pain. I use it only when the pain is bad or I particularly need to sleep. I have rectal pain and wherever I pee, those muscles get squeezed and hurt! Baclofen is rapidly absorbed, so some doctors use it as an "as needed" (PRN) medication.
I guess it must help. Does anyone else take amitriptyline and baclofen together and if so what dose?I'm taking 25mg amitriptyline and 60 mg baclofen every night. I use it *about* once a week because I am also scared of addiction. When you take it four times a day does it make you feel better? Personally, I think every doctor seeing a patient with ME should have this one on his list of 'drugs to consider under appropriate circumstances'. It is actually used alot for alcoholics to withdraw from drinking and has been used for other substances as well.I've used Baclofen off and on for about 2 years and not had an addiction or other problems. Not sure really anymore of the link between caffeine and alertness or fatigue and ME. I’m trying to get Xanax it again as I need to calm down. Right now the thing that works the best of .25 mg Xanax every 4 hours. I did not get groggy when I took it but we are all different and I didn’t take it as often..I'll currently taking 25mg amitriptyline and 10mg baclofen at night. Turns out she had muscle spasms in her pelvic floor muscles. My husband’s neurologist prescribed Baclofen 10 mg at bedtime for spasms in his arm. The medication helps me sleep though. Along with 5mg Ambien, I sleep well, but I don't know if the baclofen is helping with the pain or not, and to what degree it helps with sleep.
I take cyclobenzaprine which is also a muscle relaxer and it's really helped me a lotI just asked my Dr for a script for it.
