The potential interaction between clarithromycin and warfarin warrants prudent monitoring of the INR during concurrent administration of these drugs. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs.

Potential warfarin-drug interactions could occur with any of a very wide range of drugs that are metabolized by these P450s, and a number of such interactions have been reported. Moderate to high levels of vitamin K are also found in other foods such as asparagus, avocados, dill pickles, green peas, green tea, canola oil, margarine, mayonnaise, olive oil, and soybean oil. Manufacturer advises use with caution or avoid.



Conflicting data exist regarding the clinical significance of this interaction.

These medications are not usually taken together.

For ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin the increases were apparent at day five or six whereas these were identified earlier (at around three days) for moxifloxacin.
