You have to keep taking the meds even if you feel better, or you will wind up back where you are now.I take 300mg of Lamictal. Seriously it made my mood swings so much more manageableI’m type II and take 200mg if Lamictal and I’ve been on it about a year now. Sometimes side effects will go away if you take it for a while.

I was recently switched to 25mg lamictal titrating up, now at 50 (was previously on Zoloft 100mg and abilify 10mg) Before the switch, I was 4 months Med free (and symptom free) however my pdoc strongly advised against being off my medications, so I settled with lamictal. Like any other medicine it takes time, but if lamictal works for you, you'll see it's way better than a lot of the other options.I was on lamictal for close to a decade and it was awesome, exactly what I needed for mood stabilization, no noticeable side effects. There was like something inside me that could not stay still, even if i was physically still, kinda drove me crazy where I felt the suicidal thoughts coming in for a split second. That went away. I’m sure your psych warned you about the rash but definitely make sure you’re on top of it. Lamictal actually curved a lot of my depressive episodes and I’ve started doing yoga and eating healthy.

Bipolar + Lamictal for a decade and a half has just made me feel tired and worn out, both mentally and physically.My main issues with lamictal is how many damned types there are and how insurance just changes the ones they accept, often leading to lamictal withdrawals, and those fucking suck. I stopped it for 3 months (while staying on seroquel) and then started again. However I’ve been dropping weight consistently, about 6lbs since I’ve started the medication.Has anyone else had this happen to them?
That went away too, but I still have a decreased appetite when I’m not stressed lol. Once you find the correct dose, it's a very easy going medicine, and with time the side effects do go away, I've been on it for more than 2 years and I don't experience the brain fog and I don't forget words more than it could be common. Have a ppj sandwich for dinner.If you havent been eating trying to eat a lot all at once will just be frustrating.I never gained or lost weight because of lamictal (everyone is different).

Lamictal is doing wonders for my appetite so far. I was all over the place until I figured that out.Lamictal works great for me. It kept me calm, without going through the anger/hostility episodes, which was great. I still have hypomania and depression but it’s not nearly as bad as it used to be.My biggest complaint is the brain fog and cognitive issues.
