Think I've got about 10 days worth left - I didn't have any intentions on going back to the doctor about it - it feels like a waste of time, after seeing no real benefit from the medication prescribed.Go back on it. One thing I will advise is DONT GO COLD TURKEY.
Don't write off all SSRIs because one or two don't work.Citalopram is a bitch to go cold turkey on. So there's that.currently 2 weeks in to cold turkey quitting of citalopram 20mg. My mood did dip again after that until high but I asked my docs to get bumped up to 40mg (30mg for a month, my decision) and that seems to be working now. Been on it nearlly 2 years it doesnt even do anything to me, was prescibed for anxiety. do some research, there are some supplements that people claim can help.havent had any in 4 days, i have all the symptons you said.. I was taking it to prevent tension headaches as they would turn into migrains.

Both the 20mg/day of citalopram when I was on it, and the 20mg/day of escitalopram which I'm on now have given me the same side effects: tinnitus and euphoria upon awakening.

Generic is Lexapro.You could try bupropion (Wellbutrin) with your citalopram, bupropion is taken with SSRIs a lot of the time because it's also an antidepressant but it's an NDRI so it works differently and acts on norepinephrine and dopamine instead of serotonin.It's always hard to tell what is working and what isn't, but just know that it I went off sertraline and I thought I did it gradually but without medical advice I really didn't understand how gradual it had to be. Holy cow!! and from what i’ve read it will likely take months for the withdraws to subside.
Personally I've had no real bad experiences with celexa (citalopram) other then the ones I've caused myself.
