My doctor said Prozac takes a longer time then most to get into your system and start working so I worry about this.I'm curious, why didn't lexapro work for you? I had pretty bad nausea, loss of appetite, and fatigue when I started Lexapro which thankfully went away, but I was worried when I switched I was going to have to deal with it all over again. Be aware this is something that's a risk - in some cases because the medicine is wrong, in some cases it's just because you now have slightly more energy. I don’t wake up with racing thoughts and inability to function. I was on Lexapro for years and it does wonders for my mental state, but I'm tired all the time/sluggish and have had a lot of weight gain that I can't seem to easily lose. To my delight I actually feel slightly better on Prozac, my appetite is back and I no longer have bad night sweats. I can not speak for the low sex drive because I’ve always had that, meds or not. I don't know if it should be just switched straight from one to another like that, but the prozac is a capsule so I'm not sure how to go about it.
