Since then the two times that I have drank alcohol I have blackedout and apparently gotten completely out of control. Do not recommend. So I make 100% sure to not drive after even a sip, to not drink too much, and to just be careful in general but I do still drink. It has been weird though as some days I will start feeling strong effects of drinking after half a beer and have to dump the rest out because I can't finish it, but some days I can literally drink 3-4 drinks (beer or wine, no hard alcohol) and have almost no effect. I wrote about it in this thread but long story short I started experiencing blackouts almost every time I drank and this would happen early on in the night with no changes to the rate of my alcohol consumption. Hi.. I had a weird reaction too. Just be responsible like you are already doing. It is FREE! I did continuue my normal drinking sessions throughout..I now no longer take either. I know I'm not really supposed to, but I drink on Lexapro. I periodically quit taking Lexapro and my tolerance to alcohol comes back and so does being able to remember.
deleted_user 09/04/2009. I would be VERY careful while on this medication.
I have been on the drug for 2 years and last night was the first experience I have had of a blackout. One drink is fine, but would not recommend getting drunk.Only thing I've noticed is I do feel the effects the alcohol slightly faster than usual. The doctor said this would cause liver damage. I've been on Lexapro for 2 weeks now for anxiety and a bit of depression . I started the medication in about October 2010. I'm lucky I didn't die. I found out the hard way that lexapro & alcohol can cause a black out. Therefore having one drink is the equivalent to having two drinks when taking the Lexapro and so on. After 8 beers I was stone sober. I used to have a couple drinks daily. Hi everyone.
Since then I have tried to drink a beer a day and can't do it. My doctor put me on it for depression and didn't provide any warnings about side effects (and there are plenty). I took Zoloft and Lexapro (at different times) for almost 18mos. But not headaches or nausea.anyway I just wanted to post because I was concerned about that before I started and looked through this board for answers, so hopefully this helps someone and if you can post your experiences.I got horrible hangovers and the only time I ever uncontrollably vomited in my sleep was from drinking while on Lexapro. If I'm binge drinking all night lol, I might take lexapro at 5-6 am (usually wake up automatically at this time) insteadEveryone has their tolerance level.
I have noticed that I do not get hangovers, though i feel pretty dizzy.
I remembered most of the evening and going home but part of the time was lost. I have been on the drug for 2 years and last night was the first experience I have had of a blackout. I take 20mg.
So several of the ohter meds I take in combo can produce lower blood pressure, so i have to watch my consumption. Is the doctor correct?
I did not have this side effect the first time I took it. I take 20mg of Lexapro daily. As it says in the leaftlet with Lexapro - alcohol and it mixed shouldn't make a difference....so booze away.
I had no recollection of it whatsoever. I take lexapro in the evenings and try to take it after I'm done drinking and have eaten something. I still wake up but don't have as hard of a time getting back to sleep. Don't binge. When I started lexapro it was in 2014 and unfortunately at the time there were no warnings about the interaction it had with alcohol consumption. Save yourself the embarrassment of throwing up all over everybody and the black outs. I talked to the dr and pharmacist and they explained everything to me, like pros and cons-- according to them there is not a risk of bad interaction or liver problems, but I might get drunk faster and might blackout, as well as that alcohol is a depressant. Has anyone had this reaction? Other times I don't eclven feel a buzz after 3 beers. I drink maybe once every couple weeks, and sometimes it hits me like a train.
